Marble Cake, a cake just like it’s name. Swirls of white and chocolate mixed around. When you cut through the cake, just like marble, no two pieces will be alike. This cake is a favorite in my family and very easy to make.

Velvet Edition: “Vintage” Recipe
Prep Time

Cook Time

Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 2 cups sugar
- 5 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 3 cups flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- Lemon rind (optional)
Instructions
- Heat the oven to 350°.
- Grease a bundt pan with butter and coat with flour. Dust off excess flour similar to the (click on link) Orange Bundt Cake recipe.
- Mix the butter and sugar in a mixer until light in color and fluffy. This is a very important step because it will affect the texture of the cake.
- Add the eggs one by one until well combined.
- Add the flour, baking powder, milk and vanilla and continue to beat until you obtain a smooth batter.
- Divide the batter into half.
- The half that you keep in the mixer bowl, add the cocoa powder and beat until smooth.
- Place a tablespoon or two of each ( chocolate and white ) alternatively in the bundt pan, layer by layer, placing a cocoa batter over the white batter on each row.
- Place the bundt pan in the oven and bake for about 45 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Remove from oven and invert pan immediately. Cool completely and cover.
