Marble Cake

Marble Cake

Marble Cake, a cake just like it’s name. Swirls of white and chocolate mixed around. When you cut through the cake, just like marble, no two pieces will be alike. This cake is a favorite in my family and very easy to make.

Ingredients
  1. 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  2. 2 cups sugar
  3. 5 eggs
  4. 1 cup milk
  5. 3 cups flour
  6. 3 teaspoons baking powder
  7. 1 teaspoon vanilla
  8. 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  9. Lemon rind (optional)
Instructions
  1. Heat the oven to 350°.
  2. Grease a bundt pan with butter and coat with flour. Dust off excess flour similar to the (click on link) Orange Bundt Cake recipe.
  3. Mix the butter and sugar in a mixer until light in color and fluffy. This is a very important step because it will affect the texture of the cake.
  4. Add the eggs one by one until well combined.
  5. Add the flour, baking powder, milk and vanilla and continue to beat until you obtain a smooth batter.
  6. Divide the batter into half.
  7. The half that you keep in the mixer bowl, add the cocoa powder and beat until smooth.
  8. Place a tablespoon or two of each ( chocolate and white ) alternatively in the bundt pan, layer by layer, placing a cocoa batter over the white batter on each row.
  9. Place the bundt pan in the oven and bake for about 45 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Remove from oven and invert pan immediately. Cool completely and cover.
